Underarm laser hair removal is the most-booked area for women at Maison Zolara — fast (10 minutes), affordable ($175 single, $895 for a 6-pack), and dramatically effective. Most clients see 70–90% permanent reduction after a 6-session series and never shave their underarms again.

Facial Laser Hair Removal — Lip, Chin, Cheeks & Sideburns

Facial laser hair removal is especially effective for hormonal hair (PCOS, perimenopause). We offer upper lip ($95 — our entry-level treatment), chin ($125 — particularly requested for hormonal hair), sideburns or cheeks ($150), and full face ($275 — lip + chin + cheeks + sides). Sessions are 5–20 minutes spaced 6–8 weeks apart for facial hair.

Chin laser hair removal at $125/session ($625 for a 6-pack) is one of the most empowering treatments we offer — particularly for women dealing with hormonal hair growth. About the device

We use the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus. It is a dual-wavelength laser system — two wavelengths in one platform.

This allows treatment to be adjusted for different skin tones. One wavelength (755nm Alexandrite) is suited to lighter skin. The other (1064nm Nd:YAG) is designed for darker skin.

Many clinics operate with a single wavelength. In those cases, they either turn away clients with darker skin tones or use settings that are not ideal for them. Having both wavelengths allows us to treat all Fitzpatrick skin types — I through VI — and adjust the approach as needed during treatment.

Comfort matters as well. The system delivers a brief cooling spray just before each pulse. You will still feel the treatment — this is a laser — but it is more manageable than older devices many clients have experienced elsewhere.

The GentleMax Pro Plus is FDA-cleared and widely used in dermatology and plastic surgery settings. We chose it because we wanted our clients to receive the same device used in those practices — not a more affordable alternative that happened to be available.

What is different about how we deliver it

Three things.

Continuity of care

Your sessions are performed by Palwasha Mohmand, RN — a licensed registered nurse. She conducts your consultation, performs your treatments, and adjusts your plan over time based on how your skin and hair respond.

Most clinics rotate clients between technicians. You will see the same person each visit, which allows your treatment to stay consistent and properly adjusted.

Medical oversight

Dr. Shkolnik, MD serves as medical director and oversees the clinical protocols at Maison Zolara. That means treatment parameters are guided by reviewed protocols, not improvised settings.

If your skin or history requires medical judgment, that judgment is available.

Honesty, even when it costs us

If laser hair removal is not appropriate — due to pregnancy, sun exposure, medications, or a skin condition — we will tell you.

We will reschedule, refer you, or decline the treatment. It costs us the appointment. It preserves something more important.

Why a series, not a single session

Hair grows in cycles, which is why one session is never enough. A single treatment affects only the hair that is actively growing at that moment. The rest emerges over time.

Reaching each hair in its active phase requires multiple sessions — typically four to eight.

Sessions are spaced:

• ✦Every four to six weeks for the body
• ✦Every six to eight weeks for the face

Most clients notice visible reduction after three to four sessions, with more substantial reduction by the end of the series.

At your consultation, Palwasha will assess your skin, hair, and treatment area and recommend a realistic plan. You will not be sold a larger package than you need. You will be given the number we actually believe is appropriate.

A note on terminology: the correct term is permanent reduction, not permanent removal. Most clients maintain their results long-term, with occasional maintenance once or twice a year if fine hair returns.

Pricing begins at $89 per session, with packages starting at $449. Your exact plan is discussed with you in writing before you commit.

What to expect on the day

Arrive with clean skin — no lotion or makeup on the treatment area.

Shave the area 24 hours beforehand. Unshaven hair absorbs energy above the skin, which makes treatment less comfortable and less effective. Avoid sun exposure for two weeks before and after your session.

Sessions are shorter than most people expect:

• ✦Underarms take about five minutes
• ✦Full legs or back take about 30–45 minutes

You will wear protective eyewear. Most people describe the sensation as a quick cooling feeling followed by a precise, warm snap. Most areas are manageable without numbing. For more sensitive areas, we can apply numbing cream in advance.

After treatment, the area may feel warm — similar to mild sun exposure — for a few hours. You can return to normal activities the same day.

Treated hair will appear to grow for a short period before shedding. By your second or third session, the difference is usually noticeable without looking closely.
